Pressurized Line Leak Detection (PLLD)

For monitoring pressurized product lines, ProGauge offers a PLLD solution that is with the MagLink LX Plus and MagLink LX Ultimate consoles.

Using a sophisticated software algorithm inlcuded within the MagLink LX Plus and Ultimate consoles, the system constantly monitors pressure inside product lines, and controls submersible turbine pump (STP) activity, being able to detect leaks with precision accuracy.

The ProGauge PLLD solution is third-party tested and certified for 0.1 gph, 0.2 gph and 3 gph to meet all applicable EPA UST release detection requirements. In the event of a release, an alarm is automatically triggered and the immediate positive shutdown of the STP is triggered.

How does the PLLD system work?

  • The ProGauge PLLD system is easy to install and includes an straightforward setup, with an automatic learning mechanism to detect product pipeline characteristics and the automatic adjustment of calibration settings.
  • One digital pressure sensor is installed per pressurized line, directly in the existing leak detector port on as STP head, and is designed to not restrict normal product flow. The PLLD sensor is stainless steel and carries all required safety certifications.
  • The ProGauge PLLD system performs daily, monthly and annual tests per the EPA requirements. The system also monitors line pressure during fueling cycles. If an abnormal pressure drop is detected during dispensing, the system will provide positive shutdown to the STP. When the station is quite or idle, the system monitors the static line pressure. If a pressure drop is detected, the system will automatically run a 3.0 GPH test to check the line integrity.
  • The ProGauge MagLink console's sophisticated algorithm will automatically compensate product temperature variations, and minimize potential for false alarms.

The ProGauge PLLD solution is composed of 3 main components:

  1. PLLD Sensor
  2. PLLD DAS
  3. Line Interface Module (LIM)
